Admissions

Sojourner REquirements

1. CHRISTIAN TESTIMONY

One of the most important parts of the Sojourner admissions process is whether or not you have a personal relationship with Christ and a definite call to full-time ministry. Because of the emphasis of training for missions work at Sojourner, we require that all students have a definite call to ministry.

2. HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE

High School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent is required. While GPA’s are not a determining factor for admissions, admitted students should understand that classes are taught at college level.

3. DEBT FREE

To attend school, you may not have any outstanding loans or debts. Indebtedness can interfere with studies and future missions work. As a student, you cannot have a regular job. With limited free time and an emphasis on study, the schedule does not allow for even part-time employment. Odd jobs such as lawn maintenance and babysitting are permitted.

4. TEEN MISSIONS PARTICIPATION

We would love for each of our students to have participated in a Teen Missions summer team before joining Sojourner, however, we know this is not always possible. So, we will allow you to join our Sojourner program even if you have not gone on a Teen Missions team. However, this allowance is dependent upon three positive references, if needed you may be required to go on a TMI team. You will be required to participate in summer teams while you are a student in the Sojourner program. Our summer missions teams are a huge part of our ministry, and we want everyone involved to be a part of them!

Become a Sojourner

STEP 1: GET FAMILIAR WITH SOJOURNER

The process to become a Sojourner starts with getting in touch with us. We want to get to know you and anyone considering joining should want to get to know us. During this phase we can answer any questions you have and assess whether or not you meet the requirements. If you don't meet them, don't worry, we will help you make plans to meet all of the requirements.

STEP 2: MAKE A DECISION

Once you have made the decision to join Sojourner, we have an application process. We want to make sure we answer any of your questions before you fill out an application and begin that process.

STEP 3: FINISH MISSING REQUIREMENTS

Once you fill out the application and its necessary paperwork, you will receive an email from the Sojourner Coordinator. They may ask you for more information, or follow up paperwork. A big part of the process is writing three different entrance essays and receiving three different references. Once again, we want to make sure you are the right fit for this school and this school is the right fit for you.

STEP 4: BECOME A SOJOURNER

Once you are finished with these three steps and have finished the entire application process, you are ready to become a Sojourner. After your application is complete, our Sojourner Coordinator will have a meeting with you to discuss the best time for you to start!
